Obituary

Martha Louise Braxton Telleria, age 60 passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2020. She was born January 1st, 1960.

Like the savior, Martha believed that children were close to the lord like was taught in Mark 10:14 that "of such is the kingdom of God." Martha lived her life with that principle and helped so many children and anyone that needed her. She had children but she helped raise and touched the hearts of countless children throughout her life. She was a hidden jewel and the author of one of the most famous poems of all time "Don't Quit." Her favorite color was purple. She loved her Dragon, her Pepsi, and her country-music. She believed in loyalty and Respect above all else and was the leader of a chosen wolf pack. She was prophetic and spiritually gifted. Her wisdom was beyond her years.

Martha grew up in Northern Virginia but traveled and lived around the country and found happiness in Chicago, Illinois where she met her mother Jean Lopez. She made countless friends and memories while living there. While in Chicago, Martha was heavily involved in politics, graduated from college and was a voice to the community and strength to many children across the world. She was a free spirit with a huge heart who traveled like the wind and would give a stranger the shirt off her back.

After her time in Chicago, Martha moved back to Northern Virginia. She searched for truth and happiness to provide for her children and it was then she found the LDS church. She had always believed the Savior came to this side of the world so when the missionaries taught that her spirit lit up and she had to join. She kept a picture of the Prophet Gordon B Hinckley by her bed till the end because he was the Prophet when she joined and she loved to look at his picture. While she couldn't attend church often because of her health she loved the lord and the church. She was a huge advocate for education and instilled this within every person she met.

Martha is survived by 4 children, 1 God-daughter and 6 grandchildren. Tavesa Nitinia Rose, Nykia Alicia Braxton, Braxton (Kevin) Telleria, and Aliyah Makala Brown. God-Daughter Melissa Williams. Grandchildren Kalani Alicia Ricard, Jeremiah Ricco Braxton, Kiara Christine Williams, Keion Cristafer Williams, Kaden  Clifford Tyree, and Kenyen Cleveland Tyree; and a number of other loving relatives and close friends. She is survived by her siblings Victor Braxton, Darlene Braxton, Mark Braxton, Teresa Braxton, Teri Polendo and Dawn Navarro. Her favorite Niece Rochelle Brown.
