Marshall D (Big Red) Sandidge, 55 of Lynchburg, began enjoying his eternal reward September 3, 2013. Born in Amherst County, August 20, 1958, he was the son of the late Russell and Julia Lee Sandidge (Verb). Marshall had been employed with Archery Creek Foundry and England Stove, prior to pursuing a dream of running his own businesses, with Sandidge Car Care and Sandidge Lawn Services. He was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church, Amherst,VA. He is survived by his wife and best friend Trina Sandidge, daughter Samika Sandidge, son Marcus Sandidge, Lynchburg, VA; Two granddaughters that he dearly loved, Maryah Sandidge, Lynchburg, VA; Serena Sandidge, Henrico, VA; Six sisters, Jessie Canada and Victoria Morris, Amherst, VA; Gloria Sales, Lynchburg, VA; Julia Minnis (Jessie), Madison Heights, VA; Hazel Charlton (Terry), Rustburg, VA; Phyllis Sandidge, Burlington, NC; Four brothers Richard Sandidge (Lindell) and Donnie Sandidge, Amherst, VA; Mitchell Sandidge (Mary), Lynchburg, VA; Gregory Sandidge (Christy) Madison Heights, VA; three sister in-laws Fannie Sandidge, Amherst, VA; Eliza Yuille (Tracy), Lynchburg, VA; Eunice Alexander, Atlanta, GA; Two brother in-laws Theodore Alexander (Audrey) and Jeffrey Alexander, Lynchburg, VA; one aunt Bernice Sandidge-Rose, Pittsburg, PA; a special Friend Bridgette Hubbard; and host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service with be held 2 pm Saturday, September 7, 2013, at the New Jerusalem Baptist Church, with Rev Rodney Harris and Rev. Rodney Sandidge, officiating. Interment will follow in Smith-Sandidge Family Cemetery. Repast will be held in the church lower level. The family will receive friends at 175 Mill Creek Rd, Amherst, VA at other times.
