Obituary

Marion Modine Johnson "Jadie" transitioned while at Guggenheimer Rehabilitation Facility to be with her Heavenly Father, July 12, 2017 at 6:32 am. Born September 29, 1920 in Pamplin, VA, and she was the daughter of the late George and Jenny Scott and spent her early years in Prince Edward County.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Early Johnson; brothers, Malcolm Scott, Cleveland Scott and Quincy Scott; sisters, Mozelle Jacobs, Clarice Cobb, Etta Ross and Avana Williams.

She is survived by four daughters, Aneta Anderson, Wanda Dawson, both of Lynchburg, Linda Tate, of Dallas, TX and Elsie Dillard-Morman, husband (Willie), of Lynchburg; one son, Jeffery Dickerson, wife (Joyce), of Atlanta, GA; one sister, Eunice Gudger, of Hyattsville, MD; sixteen grandchildren; seventeen great grand-children; fourteen great-great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Ida Scott, of Prospect and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to treasure her memory.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Ford, officiating. The interment will be on Monday, July 17, 2017 at 12:00 Noon at The Presbyterian Cemetery.  Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
