Marcella Jane Tinsley departed this life peacefully on June 25, 2023, at her residence. She was born in West Virginia on June 26, 1959, to the late Wellington Filbert Chidester and Verna Jane Brown Chidester.

Marcella was also preceded in death by 1 brother, Bobby Junior Chidester; 1 son, Gregory Mark Zickefoose; sister-in-law, Barbara Sue Campbell Chidester; 2 brothers-in-law, Henry Tamblyn Friend and Donald Nelson Friend; mother-in-law, Fannie Tinsley; and father-in-law, Reverend Meredith Tinsley, Sr.; and several nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her loving husband, Meredith Tinsley, Jr.; her son, Richard (Jessica) Zickefoose of Strattansville, PA; step-children, Bryan Cashwell, Lenardo Cashwell, Ashley Douglas (Roger), Gregory Tinsley, and Melissa Tinsley; 2 brothers, Gary (Judy) Chidester of Blue Creek, OH and David (Marilyn) Chidester of Springfield, OH; 4 sisters, Jessie Friend of Rock Cave, WV, Betty Friend of Buckhannon, WV, Martha (Tiny) (Clifford) Shaw of Buckhannon, WV, and Kathleen Chidester (David) of Strattansville, PA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lila Smith (Elvin), Annie Reed (Robert), Ernest Tinsley (Sheila), Robert Tinsley (Takia), and Jacqueline Haynes (Ted); 8 grandchildren, Nicholas (Mikayla Blake), Wyatt Zickefoose, Kara (Dennis) Gum, Shaylea, Jonnah, Davina, and Hanna Zickefoose, Abigail Beers; 5 great-grandchildren, Liam and Elias Burr, Eliana and Dawson Gum, and Briella Zickefoose; mother-in-law, Deborah Tinsley; a host of other grandkids and great-grandkids; and several nieces and nephews.

Marcella joined the church at an early age. She was a dedicated and faithful employee of Express Lane for many years. She loved her family very much.

A homegoing celebration will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, June 30, 2023, at Piney Grove Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Tinsley Family cemetery. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
