Mabel Estelle Turner, 88, of Ferrum, passed away Monday, October 16, 2006. She was born February 27, 1918 to the late Kate Hale. Left to cherish precious memories are her children, Jean (Alvin) Leavelle, Ray Turner, Larry (Shirley) Turner, Margaret (Harold) Muse, of Rocky Mount, VA; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Pigg River Community Center, 2410 South Main Street, Rocky Mount, VA with the Rev. Samuel Anderson officiating. Interment will be at Franklin Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Pigg River Community Center.
