Lucas Mann Barnett departed this life on Friday, June 20, 2025. He was the sixth child born on December 12, 1985, to the late Homer C. Barnett, Sr., and Lecie Toms-Barnett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Santresa Barnett; his brother, Estrello Barnett; and his uncle, Elmore Barnett.

At an early age Lucas accepted Christ and joined Oak Hill Baptist Church, where he sang on the choir. Lucas also served as pianist for Galilee Baptist Church accompanying his mother as she led worship. He was a musician for North River Youth Choir in Bridgewater, Virginia when his late uncle, Leonard Thomas (Aunt Belle) served as pastor.

Lucas is known for his love for his children, his family, and his friends. He had a special bond with his brothers and cousins fondly known as "The Toms Lane Crew." He had a big heart and loved helping others. His laughter, humor, and smile will be forever engraved in our memories.

He leaves to cherish his memories his children: Lucas Mann Barnett, Jr., Chaya Pecolia Barnett, and Jasiah Alexander Barnett of Lynchburg, Virginia; three siblings, Homer Barnett, Jr. (Tammy) of Amherst, Virginia, Tamara Rose (Gray) of Madison Heights, Virginia, and Brion Barnett (Sarah) of Amherst, Virginia; nieces and nephews: Simone, Kelsey, Lil' Tony (Ashley), Alcindor, Myra, and Zachary; his aunts, Belle Thomas, Ruth Toms-Canada (Jerome), Nancy Carter, and Regina Toms; as well as a host of cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at Davis-Turner Funeral Service. There will be no repast following the services. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
