Linda Rucker Martin, 72, of Evington, VA earned her angel wings on Monday, September 11, 2023. She was born August 1, 1951, in Amherst County, VA to the late John Rucker, Sr. and Inez Rucker. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Fletcher Rucker; granddaughter, Corryn Watts; her Godmother, Que Mcgilvery; two, sisters-in-law, Laverne and Wilma; and two brothers-in-law, June and Charles.

Linda was a faithful member of Mount Plain Baptist Church over the course of 30 years. Linda loved using her gift of singing as a member of the choir. She was an employee of RR Donnelly until she retired and dedicated her time providing childcare for her grandchildren.

She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and maw-maw to her fur grandbabies. She is survived by her husband, Perry Martin; two daughters, Tamekio Watts (Chris) and Anita Daniel; one step-daughter, LaToya Anthony; five granddaughters, Mackynzie, Lexus, Camile, Carina, and Olivia; four grandsons, Jacob, Jeremy, Malachi, and Xavier; two sisters, Kate Taylor and Ethel Rucker; three brothers, John Rucker, Lewis Rucker, and Alvin Rucker (Sharlene); special prayer friend, Annette Rhodes; goddaughter, Yvette Ferguson; and a host of Aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A homegoing celebration will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, September 17, 2023, at Mt. Plain Baptist Church, 3746 Johnson Mountain Road, Evington, VA 24550. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Davis-Turner Funeral Service. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
