Leroy Smith, Sr., of Lynchburg, departed this life on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Rank & Pratt Senior Living Community. He was born January 26, 1932. He was preceded in death by his parents, Layton and Mary Calloway Smith of Bedford and his first wife Jean Walker Smith and a daughter Lisa A. Smith, along with numerous siblings.
He leaves to cherish his memories, a devoted daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Calvin Brown of Lynchburg; his former wife, Loretta Smith and their two sons, Leroy Smith, Jr. (Sharon) and Lynn Smith; he has two step-children, Deloris Walker and Robert (Mary) Walker; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren; along with two sisters, Odessa Witter of Bronx, NY and Marva Blair of Lynchburg and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at Holcomb Rock Baptist Church with Rev. Carl B. Hutcherson, as eulogist and Rev. Davis Stewart, pastor, officiating.
