Leonard Michael "Baby Leonard" Goins, Jr.

Leonard M. Goins, Jr. of 203 West Bethel Dr., Madison Heights, departed this life peacefully June 24, 2012, at Lynchburg General Hospital surrounded by his loving Family.

Leonard was born on August 12, 1947, in Amherst, VA. He was the son of Ethel E. Goins of Madison Heights, and the late Leonard Goins, Sr. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby and Owen Goins and Sister Norann Goins. He retired from Babcock and Wilcox after 37 years of service.

He leaves to cherish his memory wife, Carrie J. Goins, of Madison Heights; two sons, Vincent Michael Goins (Dominique), of Dallas, TX, Jonathan Craig Goins (Kimberly), of Amherst; one daughter, Alicia Waters (Michael) of Stanford, VA; two step-daughters, Lisa Jenkins, of Madison Heights and Christy Jenkins (Maurice, Fiance`) of Columbus, OH; two brothers, Danny R. Goins (Jo) of Lynchburg and Ralph W. Goins (Deborah) of Madison Heights; two sisters, Sandra J. Nappier (Linnell), of Amherst and Cheryl J. Cabell, Madison Heights; mother-in-law, Bernice Richardson, of Roseland; three brothers-in-law, Oliver Paige, of Roseland, Calvin Paige, Denver, CO and Randy Paige, Honkers, PA; three sisters-in-law, Delores Goins, Lynchburg, Brenda Hazel, of Beaver Falls, PA and Margie Warrick (Joseph) Upper Marlboro, MD; seven grandchildren; five step grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A celebration of Leonard's life will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 28, 2012 at the First Baptist Church, Coolwell of Amherst, with Pastor Charles E. Frye officiating.
