Laverne Jackson Maben, 88, entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 16, 2013 at Virginia Baptist Hospital. She was born August 22, 1924 to the late William Jackson and Veola Hunter Jackson in Lynchburg. She was the wife of the late George Giles Maben and was also preceded in death by Gary Runyon Maben.
She professed her faith at an early age being baptized at Bethany Baptist Church of Lynchburg, where she has remained faithful spirit filled Christian.
She leaves to cherish her memories three grandchildren, Corey Jermaine Maben, of Lynchburg, Gary Maben, Jr. and Gregory Maben, both of Richmond; two sisters-in-law, Ad Lee McDaniel and Mary Catherine Scott, both of Madison Heights and a host of nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held 12:00 Noon Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Bethany Baptist Church, Lynchburg with Rev. Mack Johnson, officiating and Pastor Gregory Dowell, as eulogist.
