Larry Garnett McCoy of 528 Archer Mill Rd. Concord, VA 24538 was called home to be with the Lord on August 29, 2017 after a long battle with illness. He was born September 23, 1962 to the late Lessie Mae Giles McCoy and John Henry McCoy, Sr.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Douglas and Nettie McCoy and Clifton and Mary Giles; five uncles, Soloman McCoy, Nelson Giles, Garry Giles, James Giles and Van Brown; five aunts, Mary Lambert, Mildred Giles, Letitia Giles, Margie Trent and Lucille McCoy.
Larry was a graduate of Rustburg High School. He was a long time employee of Moody's Moving and Transfer Company and Ericssion Corporation. Larry joined New Hope Baptist Church at an early age where he participated on the Youth Usher board and was a devoted member and trustee of the church.  He was a devoted father and grandfather to his daughter, Shante Cardwell and granddaughter, Alicia Cardwell.  A devoted son to his father, John McCoy, Sr. and a devoted brother to John McCoy, Jr. and Keith McCoy.
Larry is survived by his father, John H. McCoy, Sr.; two brothers, John H. McCoy, Jr. (Racquel), of Austin, TX and Leslie Keith McCoy (Kim), of Concord, VA; one nephew, Keith McCoy; one great nephew, Bryson John Gooden, of Austin, TX; two nieces, Jasmine Marie and Alyssa Rae McCoy, of Austin , TX; seven aunts, Shirley West, of Appomattox, Lillie Daye (Ernest), of Concord, VA, Helen Brown, of Lynchburg, VA, Marie Nowlin (Lacey), of Lynchburg, VA, Arlene Goode (Shervelle), of Rustburg, VA, Sheryle Hampton (Dwayne), of Lynchburg, VA and Sarah Freeman, of  NC; one uncle, Paul McCoy, of Appomattox, VA; devoted friends, William Bill Abbitt, Royal Trent and Brenda Moss and a host of other close relatives and friends.
