Katheryne Mae Dickey Harris, 88, of Lynchburg passed away Friday, May 18, 2012 at Virginia Baptist Hospital Skilled Care Unit. She was born July 22, 1923 to the late Frank W. Dickey, Sr. and Evelyn McDaniel Dickey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Harris and two sons, William and David Harris, as well as by two sisters, Audrey Robinson and Elsie Rackley, and two brothers, Elmore and Frank Dickey, Jr.
Those left to cherish her memories are her children: Richard (Cynthia) Harris, of Lynchburg, who were her devoted caregivers, Edwina Hamby of Hendersonville, TN, Sheila Parker of Concord, Michael (Christi) of Louisa, and Angelo of Altavista; two sisters, Gladys Hilliard, of Tinton Falls, NJ, and Juanita (Oscar), of South Brunswick, NJ; twenty-four grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren; devoted friend, Ernestine Hamilton, of Lynchburg and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Diamond Hill Baptist Church, with Rev. Warren Anderson, Pastor, officiating.
