Julian Louis Sandidge departed this life and gone to a better home after a long illness on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Heartland Nursing Home.  He was born July 23, 1938 to the late Oscar and Martha Sandidge.

He was preceded in death by two children, Calvin and Lucinda and six brothers.

He was married fifty-two years to Mary Taylor Sandidge.  Louis was a member and an associate minister of New Jerusalem Baptist Church and Pastor of many churches.

Before his health failed he was very active in the community and loved people.  He was the owner of Sandidge Taxi for many years and loved to plant a garden.

He taught Vacation Bible School at New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Amherst, County and was a member of the Rockfish Baptist Association.  He attended the Minister's Conference in Hampton, VA for many years.  He graduated from Virginia Seminary in Lynchburg with several degrees in the religious field.

In addition to his wife Mary he leaves too cherish his memory three children, Mona Sandidge, Edward Sandidge (Louise) and Brenda Sandidge; one daughters-in-law, Cynthia Sandidge; seven grandchildren, Edmund Sandidge, Ashley Sandidge, Chelsey Scott, Keith and Laurel McCray, Dre Sandidge and Ernest Hamlet; four great-grandchildren; eight sisters, Lennie Henley, Shirley Garland, Mae Braxton, Fannie Page, Betty Braxton, Deborah Ware, Doretha Cabell and Judy Bailey; two brothers, David Sandidge, of Maryland and Terry Coles, of New Jersey; three brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law, Frances Taylor; one devoted niece, Amy Braxton thanks for your help and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, other loving relatives and friends.
