On Saturday, February 17, 2018, at the Lynchburg General Hospital, Lynchburg, Mrs. Julia India Walthall Cabler transitioned into the arms of our Heavenly Father after a blessed life of 87 years. Her parents, Mr. Spurgeon Walthall and Mrs. Mazie Pannell Walthall and sons Ronald Cabler and Barney Cabler preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Lillie W. Cundiff, Elmose Walthall, Ethel W. Calloway, Herman Walthall and Houston Walthall. Baptized at an early age at Cross Road Baptist Church, she remained a faithful and active member throughout her life. She thoroughly enjoyed serving on the Food Committee and took great pleasure in providing floral arrangements for the Fellowship Hall tables at Homecoming. She also enjoyed reading, studying and participating in discussions at the Agape noon day Bible Study Class. She attended the Campbell County Public Schools and graduated from the Campbell County Training School. She retired from C.B. Fleet on June 1, 1995. She leaves to mourn her loss her children, Delphine Mickles, Sandra Hariston (Spencer), Marvin Cabler and Jacqueline Cabler; siblings, Addie W. Millet, Verneice W. Cabler and Alonzo Walthall (Mabel); serveral grandchildren and great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and other wonderful relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Cross Road Baptist Church with Dr. William Coleman, officiating. The interment will be in the church cemetery.
