Obituary
John Henry Morgan, 95, departed this life on April 7 in Lynchburg, VA. He was the husband of the late Maggie Jones Morgan. Born November 19, 1914 in Appomattox County he was the son of the late Samuel H. and Dora Morgan. He was a lifelong member of the Canaan Baptist Church in Appomattox.
He was a World War II Veteran and retired from Burruss Land & Lumber Company in Lynchburg, VA.
He is survived by his devoted nieces and nephew, Jacqueline "Jackie" and her husband Calvin of Lynchburg, VA, Jacquetta McCoy, Loretta (John) Kirkham and Raymond Morgan of Harrisburg, PA, great nephew Cedric Anderson of Lynchburg, VA, devoted sister-in-law and caregiver Delores Jones and sister-in-law Odessa Morgan, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Gladys M. Evans, Robert, Edward and Hildred Morgan.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon Tuesday at Canaan Baptist Church in Appomattox, VA with the Rev. Dr. C. L. Elliott eulogist. The interment will be in the Morgan Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. at Davis-Turner Funeral Home on Monday.
