On Wednesday, February 7, 2024, Mr. Joe Louis Morgan, Sr. journeyed beyond every human sight to fulfill his hope of living with God.

He was born August 24, 1936, to the late Richard Morgan, Jr. and Isabelle Penn Morgan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Richard Morgan, III and Thomas Morgan; and 2 sisters, Elizabeth and Helen Morgan.

Joe graduated from the former Amherst County Training Center (the high school back then). He retired from the United States Air Force, after 22 years of service. We thank God for his dedication to his country.

Joe accepted Christ at an early age and joined St. Mary's Baptist Church where he served faithfully until his health started to decline.

He leaves to cherish his memory, 2 sons, Joe Morgan, Jr. (Miyuki) of Ashburn, VA, and Charles Morgan (Angelita) of Arrington, VA; nine grandchildren, Kai and Len Morgan of Ashburn, VA, Charles Martin, III (Ladrena) of Yorktown, VA, Shashona and Shannon Martin, Sophona Johnson (Wilbert), Antoinette Coleman, Antonio Crews, and Christopher Kelley all of Richmond, VA; 2 brothers, Harvey and Charles Morgan of Amherst, VA; and a special and devoted friend, Carolyn Davis.

A homegoing celebration will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2024, at St. Mary's Baptist Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
