Jerry Leigh Johnson, father of three, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, January 21, 2023, at age 73.  Jerry was born in Lynchburg, Virginia on November 9, 1949, the youngest son of the late Duvall Johnson & Helen Revely Johnson Hudson.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law James & Veronica Johnson of Madison Heights, VA.

He was a member of the White Rock Baptist Church. After over 40 years of service, Jerry retired from RR Donnelley (Meredith Burda) as a Proof Press Operator.  He would later become an employee of the Lynchburg City Schools Transportation.  A fan of the outdoors, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and playing cards. He was also a die-hard fan of the Washington Commanders "Redskins".

He is survived by his three children, Carlitta Johnson of Lynchburg, VA, Jerry Franklin (Jen) of Charlotte, NC, and Cheree Robertson (Keith) of Spout Spring, VA; seven grandchildren: Cameron Johnson (Tequilla), Jaylen Holland, McKayla Pennix, McKinley Pennix, Courtnee Holland, Jayson Franklin, and Jordan Franklin. Nieces; Angela Clark, Alicia Wynn, and Tiffany Smith. Nephews; Joseph Crennel, Duvall Johnson, Sean Johnson, Roger Johnson, Devon Johnson, and forever friend, Joyce Johnson. He also leaves to mourn his siblings; Jo-Ann Johnson of Lynchburg, VA, Janice Colmore of Lynchburg, VA, and Annette Smith of Essex, NJ.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Davis-Turner Funeral Service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
