IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jennie Ann
Ellis
December 7, 1934 – January 24, 2025
Jennie Ann Tucker Ellis peacefully transitioned to her everlasting home on January 24, 2025, in Amherst, VA, at the home of her devoted niece, Rosa Irving, who preceded her in death on January 11, 2025.
She was born on December 7, 1934, to the late Charlie Henry Tucker and the late Rose Zelma Ward Tucker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, William McDaniel Ellis (Flashlight) and daughter-in-law, Deborah Coyle Ellis; four sisters, Freddie Mae Henderson (Emmitt), Sallie Tucker Smith (Herbert), Mary Tucker, and Betty Henderson (Willis); two brothers, Charles Tucker, Jr. (Lottie) and John Ned Tucker. Also preceding her in death was a very special friend and life partner, Waddell Williams.
Ann was an active member of Pine Hill Baptist Church and was always willing to help out when needed in anyway she could. In 1995, due to various health issues she was no longer able to work a full-time job. She did continue to help others throughout the community. She was a light of sunshine to her family and everyone else who knew her. You could always count on her to have cookouts for her family and friends to keep them together.
She enjoyed watching baseball while eating Lays Potato Chips or black cherry ice cream, black coffee, and country ham along with a big ole pot of cabbage cooked by her nephew, Gene.
She also enjoyed raising chickens and a garden so she could share her eggs and vegetables with the community.
She leaves behind her three grandchildren, Cedric (Antranette), Mack, Jr., and Chasity Ellis; and a special granddaughter of love, Fedell Coyle; a list of great-grandkids, Devante', Amaya, Ca'Mari, Kamiya, Royalty, Cedric, Jr., Legenynd Ellis, Alonzo Lewis, and Jamarion Jordan (by love).
She also leaves behind a host of 4 generations of nieces and nephews; and a special great-great-niece, Crystal Napper.
Ann will be truly missed by all that loved her.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Pine Hill Baptist Church, Arrington, VA. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
