Jean D. Bailey of Roanoke, VA, residing in Lynchburg, VA, passed away Friday, January 10, 2024, after a long illness. She was born October 14, 1933, to the late Myrtle B. Doswell and Edgar A. Doswell. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Louis H. Bailey, Jr.; three sons, Louis H. Bailey, III, Gary A. Bailey, and Michael W. Jennings; and one daughter, Cynthia D. Bailey.

She attended Lynchburg Public Schools and worked for the old Darling Shop, Vogue, and she did some domestic work. She accepted Christ at eleven years old at Diamond Hill Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School.

Jean is survived by three daughters, Deborah B. Stamps (Danny), Sandra L. Bailey, and LaToya Weidner (John); one son, Gregory E. Bailey (Michelle); 18 grandchildren; and a host of great and great-great-grandchildren.
