Janie Jones Carpenter entered into eternal rest peacefully at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL on Monday, April 17, 2017. She was born January 25, 1963 in Bedford, Virginia to Virginia Estelle Jones and the late James Alfred Jones.
Janie lovingly known as "little" was educated in the Bedford County School systems, where she graduated from Jefferson Forest High School in 1982 and she attended Central Virginia Community College.
Janie joined St. Paul Baptist Church, Forest, VA at the age of 12 and she had perfect Sunday School attendance; sang on the Tot and Junior Choir and was also a usher.
Janie was married on August 13, 1991 to Melvin W. Carpenter and during her marriage she attended Timothy Baptist Church in Amherst, County.
Janie was co-owner and operator of New Image Hair Care Center with her identical twin sister, Jamie.
Janie had a sweet smile, humble personality and gave the biggest and tightest hugs. She was never tired or sick. When asked how she was, her reply was "good", "doing just fine." Janie loved the outdoors and accompanied her husband on photo assignments where she met many people and made friends.
Janie leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Melvin Carpenter; mother, Virginia Estelle Jones; her twin sister Jamie Jones; brother Ronald (Bernice) Jones; mother-in-law, Jeannette D. Carpenter; sister-in-law, Diana Sparrow; one nephew, Ryan Sparrow and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She was truly loved and admired for her faith, strength and warm affection. To say she will be missed is an understatement. Words can't describe the miss and heartache.
