On September 17, 2025, God called home one of his precious angels. Janice Althea Jefferson Reid was born on October 22, 1962, to the late Elmo Jefferson and Barbara Jefferson. She was an amazing woman who loved her family, friends, and animals. She was full of life and a person who had a heart of gold. Janice was a great-grandmother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and mother to so many and always had the best advice and gave lots of love to anyone she would meet.

Janice is preceded in death by her daughter, Quashana Renee Jefferson Turner. Janice leaves behind so many people to cherish her memory including but not limited to her husband, Clarence Reid, Jr.; her children, Shaunta Jefferson (Kacey), Christopher Turner (Quashana), Antwaun Jefferson, Trivia Jefferson-Goode (Carlton), Montez Jefferson (Tiffany), and Lyvic Jefferson; one recently united brother, Phuong Son; one sister, Sharon Jefferson; three sisters-in-law, Lisa Reid-Smith, LaDonna Reid, and Tiffany Reid; three great-grandkids, Majorie Robertson, Camari Mann-Jefferson, and Kamri Jefferson; 12 grandchildren: Dante Jefferson, Trinity Brown, Aziyah Miller, CJ Goode, Je'Kylah Jefferson, Carmen Goode, Tyshonna Petty, CJ Payne, Jasavion Payne, Tyonna Jefferson, La'Roza Jefferson, and Tristen Lewis-Jefferson; two aunts, Jean Hawkins and Clarine Jefferson; five nieces, Tyra Reid (Elijah, Isiah, LeKayla), Uleta Austin (Jmeek, Jmil, Kalif, Zahira, and Tariq), Raven Ellis Rose (Kendrick), Jenita Anderson (Tatreal, Faith, Tariq, and Kayla), and Tylayah Reid; eight nephews: Antonio Smith, Jr., Marquis Wesley, Shaquille Eubanks, Tre'zhon Reid, Talib Reid, CJ Ellis, Jr., Tracy Reid, Jr., and Brian Huynh; and two devoted cousins, Michael Hicks and Brack Hawkins. A special thank you to Kacey Cash, our hospice nurse, who took very good care of Janice and created a special bond. Janice was a ray of sunshine, who always smiled through the worst. Janice had a plethora of other relatives, extended family, and friends whom she loved dearly and loved spending time with.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, September 26, 2025, at St. James CME Church. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
