On May 29, 2023, at 3:34 AM, James Edward "Billy" Rose, 80 years old, went home to be with the Lord. He lost his battle fighting cancer for over two years.

He leaves to mourn his wife, Anna Thomas Rose; two daughters, Kelly Coles, and Shanté Rose; also, two stepsons, Keith (Sherry) of Port Orange, Fl, and Adrian Parrish of Madison Heights, VA.

The son of William Henry and Carrine Morris Rose of Amherst, VA he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Rose and Louise Rose Dawkins; and four brothers, James Henry (Frances), Lovie Lee (Dora), Albert (Patricia), and George (Claudia).

There are two brothers surviving, Gilbert (Patricia) and Roosevelt (Ernestine) Rose of Amherst, VA.

During his last years, he spent time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was always smiling when they were around. Billy leaves seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and friends of all ages, He will sadly be missed.

No more banana pudding, crush orange, ginger ale, green tea, chocolate milk, chocolate cake, chocolate ice cream needed for this sweet, precious man.

A homegoing celebration will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 03, 2023, at Davis-Turner Funeral Service. Interment will be in the Rose Family Cemetery. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
