James Clay Murphy of Amherst, VA departed this earthly life on October 24, 2023. James was the son of the late Henry Clay Murphy and Jean Henley Murphy.

James leaves to cherish his memories sisters, Lula Murphy Toliver (Kinkle) of Amherst, VA and Priscilla Liggon of Madison Heights, VA; his brothers, Norman Murphy and Lloyd Murphy of Trenton, New Jersey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving caretakers.

Services are entrusted to Davis-Turner Funeral Service in Lynchburg, VA. Services of love will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 30, 2023, at Davis-Turner Funeral Service with burial in the Christian Aid Cemetery, Amherst, VA. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
