James Edward Jones departed this life on May 3, 2019.  He was born in Lynchburg, VA to the late Beulah Virginia Jones and late Kenneth Ashby Jones on February 1, 1962.  He was preceded in death by his son, Eaun (W.W. Saunders, Jr.); brother Barry Eugene Jones.  He attended Rustburg High School and upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Army.  He also worked at Stamptech as a Turret Operator.

He was a former body builder and a veteran, he loved reading books and doing research on different topics that were of interest to him.  He liked all kinds of sports, football and basketball were his favorites.  He had a good sense of humor and liked watching a variety of movies especially comedies.  He always tried to be positive as well as encouraging to others.  He was outgoing and friendly.  He had a big heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever he could.

James is survived by his wife Tania M. Jones; three sons, Jody V. Saunders, Skyler U. Saunders (Nichelle) and Dominique D. Haley; two brothers, Kenneth W. Jones and Jerome M. Jones; two brothers-in-law, Roman L. Cardwell and Joe Cardwell (Elvira); three sisters-in-law, Katrina D. Tune, Deva D. Cardwell and Sarita G. Cardwell and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends.
