Ida B. Callinder, 79, of Lynchburg passed away, Wednesday October 22, 2014 at Virginia Baptist Hospital, Skilled Care Unit. She was born July 5, 1935 to the late John Irving and Lucy Harris Irving.
Ida was a great grandmother and helped to raise many of her grandchildren until she became ill. She enjoyed spending time with family while watching her favorite tv shows.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son, James E. Irving; two brothers, Walter Irving and Leroy Irving; sisters, Ella M. Washington, Alease Irving, Virginia Smith and Mozella Irving and one son-in-law, Otis Brown.
Those left to cherish her memories are two sons, Elijah Irving and Gaylord Irving; three daughters, Eloise Brown, Loretta Scott (Willie) all of Lynchburg and Mary Irving of Roanoke; one brother, James Franklin Irving, of Amherst; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, October 27, 2014 at Davis-Turner Funeral Service with Rev. Evelyn Mitchell, officiating. The interment will be in the New Mt.
