Hubert C. (Hugh) Patterson, Jr. departed this life suddenly Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011 at Lynchburg General Hospital. Hubert was born December 24, 1949 the son of the late Clara Walker Patterson and Hubert C. Patterson, Sr. Hubert was also preceded in death by a sister Sheila Patterson Brown and a brother, Roy Patterson.
Hubert is survived by his two children, Tawana Patterson of Forestville, MD and Ajamu Patterson (Shelley) of Clinton, MD; two sisters, Kathy Patterson of Lynchburg and Bonnie Patterson of Richmond; two granddaughters, whom he loved dearly, T'ana Patterson and Ajai Patterson; Hugh also leaves behind his extended family, his love of 10 years, Kimberly Davis and children, Anna, Valerie and Harold and her grandchildren, Cameron, Adreanna and Katera and a host of other family and friends.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011 at Rivermont Baptist Church with the Rev. Shawn Womack, Pastor, officiating and Dr. Phillip Elliott as Eulogist. The interment will be in the Forest Hill Burial Park. Hugh will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral service. The family will receive friends at 1907 Early St. and 1610 Ruffner Place.
