Hazel Lee Ferguson, 94, went home to be with the Lord on Friday morning, July 18, 2014. She was born February 27, 1920 to the late O.K. and Nannie McCoy Ferguson.
Hazel was preceded in death by three sisters, Eppsie F. Woodson, Eunice F. Henderson and Bernice F. Madison; one brother, Warren H. Ferguson; a niece, Myrtle W. Brown and a nephew James "Hut" Woodson.
She was married to the late Leonard Ferguson. She was a member of New Dearington Baptist Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory three brother, Horace "Mac" Ferguson of Lynchburg, Lester (Cornelia) Ferguson of Atlanta, GA and Manley Ferguson, Sr. of Concord, VA; two sisters, Eleanor F. Davis of Lynchburg, VA and Sadie F. Wooding of Concord, VA; sixteen nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, numerous cousins, other family members and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff of The Oaks of Lynchburg and Pam Carr and Seven Hills Hospice.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Monday, July 21, 2014 at Davis-Turner Funeral Service with Elder Alfred Jones, officiating and Dr. Carl B. Hutcherson, as Eulogist. The interment will be in the Forest Hill Burial Park. Siblings will be receiving family and friends at their homes. Family and friends may view Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
