Harry Lee Mitchell, Jr. "Chuckie" departed this life suddenly on September 27, 2014. He was born on July 19, 1960 in Lynchburg, Virginia. Chuckie graduated from the first graduating class at Heritage High School in 1978 and attended Elizabeth City State University. He was baptized and became a member of Diamond Hill Baptist Church during his teenage years. Even though Chuckie appeared to have a hard shell, he loved people and life.

He leaves to cherish is memory his son, Justin Lee Rose, Sr. (Shontel); his loving mother, Doris M. Mitchell; a devoted sister, Kim Mitchell Conner (Billy); two brothers, Bruce Wayne Tardy (Carmela); and Danny Narone Tardy both of Gladys, Virginia; three grandchildren, Jonathan Adams, Andre Adams and Justin Lee Rose, Jr. all of Hampton, Virginia; two nieces, Tarsha Tardy and Talia Conner both of Lynchburg; three nephews, Milan Conner of New York, NY, Colton Tardy and Daron Tardy both of Gladys, Virginia; one great niece and one great nephew both from Lynchburg, Virginia. Chuckie had one very special friend who has always been a part of his life, Deborah Rose of Madison Heights, Virginia. There are a host of relatives, friends and special neighbors who loved him as well.

A funeral service will be held 11:30 AM Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Davis-Turner Funeral Service with Dr. Carl B. Hutcherson, officiating.
