Hargie W. Canada, 69, of Amherst, VA, affectionately known to family and friends as "Dirty Red", entered into eternal peace, on May 22, 2012 at Lynchburg General Hospital, Lynchburg, VA. He began his journey on June 27, 1942 in Amherst, Virginia.
He was the son of the late Earnest and Lula "Granny Dump" Sales Canada. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mamie Campbell and Bertha Davis, three brothers, John, James "Taylor" and Emmett Canada.
He retired from Griffin Pipe Co after 25 years of service as his health begin to fail. He was the husband of Jessie Sandidge Canada.
He leaves to cherish his memories, wife, Jessie, daughter Marci, brother Walter (Ruth), Mother in-Law, Julia Sandidge, five sisters-in-laws, five brothers-in-laws, one aunt Rose Levi of Philadelphia, PA and a host of loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, May 26, 2012 at St. Mary's
Baptist Church, Lowesville with Rev. Troy Anderson, officiating. The interment will be in the Sandidge Family Cemetery. Friends and family may view today from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
