George Edward Patterson, Sr. departed this life on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was born on June 26, 1953 to the late Vincent Patterson, Sr. and Vermont McDaniel Patterson. He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Delores Patterson.

George graduated from Carver Price School in Appomattox, VA. He would later reside in New Jersey with his Aunt Jane and cousins, Hazel and Samantha. He later returned to the family home in Appomattox, VA.

George is survived by two brothers, Vincent Patterson, Jr. of Rustburg and Richard Patterson (Betty) of Amherst; two children, George Jr. and Angela Patterson of Lynchburg; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; Rose Wheeler, a long time friend that loved and made sure George was ok; PCA, Jessica Ferguson, that loved and cared for him throughout his illness; he had two special neighbors that looked out for him daily, Marcus Stokes and Carlton Brown, Jr.; three cousins that George spoke of regularly, Leon Webb, Joe Dillard, and CD Ferguson; he also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

A celebration of George's life will be held 2PM Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Davis-Turner Funeral Service. COVID precautions will be in place. Please wear a mask. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
