Frederick Lee
Lewis
Jan 29, 1980 — Jul 3, 2026
“Your life was a blessing; your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.”
With profound sadness and heartfelt love, we announce the passing of Frederick “Fresh” Lee Lewis, who entered eternal rest on Friday, July 3, 2026, at the age of 46.
Born on January 29, 1980, Fred lived a life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Known affectionately as “Fresh,” he had a contagious smile, a warm heart, and a gift for making everyone feel welcome. Whether he was spending time with family, sharing stories with friends, or making others laugh, he left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Fred was a devoted father of six, a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, grandfather, and friend. His love for his family was evident in everything he did, and he cherished every moment spent with those he loved. Though his earthly journey has ended, his spirit, love, and legacy will live on through his family, friends, and all who were blessed to know him.
Fred’s greatest pride and joy was his children: Taznee Sandidge, Teonna Godfrey, Jaela Scott, Kayunce Stamps, Nyasia Lewis, and his youngest son, Prince Frederick Lewis. He loved each of them unconditionally. His daughters were always his “bad and boujiee girls,” and he shared a special bond with both his sons, whom he loved and cherished dearly.
Fred was also a proud grandfather to Ni’Mani Connor, Ni’yonni Scott, Alina Madison, and Neo Connor. His grandchildren brought him endless joy, and he loved and cherished them with all his heart.
Special recognition to his longtime special friend, Daisy Sandidge, for her love and support.
Fred is now reunited with his beloved grandparents, the late William and Clara McCoy, and his grandfather, the late Eugene Hood. He leaves behind his beloved grandmother, Jean Lewis; his loving mother, Shelia Burwell; his loving father, Fred McCoy; his cherished siblings, Robert Cook, Angela Lewis, Lisa Lewis, and Linda Lewis; cherished sisters, Angela Wade, Freda Elliott, and Nicole Wood; stepbrother, Jason Greer; his stepmother, Momma Doris; his beloved nieces and nephews; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins whom he loved dearly. Fred’s love for his family was unwavering, and they will forever cherish his memory.
Today, we celebrate not only the life he lived but also the love he gave so freely. While our hearts mourn his passing, we find comfort in knowing that love never dies, and his memory will remain with us forever.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever “Fresh.”
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Davis-Turner Funeral Service. Interment will be in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Service of comfort entrusted to Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
