Obituary

Francis "Kittan" Douglas Moorman, 80 of Lynchburg Virginia departed this life Tuesday January 3, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Francis was born March 24, 1936 to the late Robert Douglas Moorman and the late Gracie Hubbard Moorman Spinner (Clarence). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved sister Jean A. Reeves and Brother/Brother-in-law Curtis A. White.
Francis served his country in the US Army for four years.
Francis accepted the Lord at an early age. Francis loved the Lord and was a faithful servant. During his walk with the Lord Francis served as a Deacon, a Trustee, a Sunday School Teacher and an Usher and would visit the sick and shut in before joining the Tree of Life Ministries where he was an active and loving member before his health failed him.
"Kittan" was an active participant in the Lynchburg art community. He was honored to present his paintings and other creative works at many local art shows. Francis will be remembered for the care he took to help others develop their talent as artists. Most of all he will be remembered for his enormous creative talent and art work he shared with many.
Francis is survived by his devoted wife Eva White Moorman of forty-two years, a son, Francis (Wanda) Douglas Moorman Jr. of Madison Heights, VA; three daughters, Josie M. Harding of Lynchburg, Gracie I. Moorman of Lynchburg, Cathy (Mark) Wadlington of Chester, VA.; a beloved niece/daughter Barbara (Javier) Espinosa; ten Devoted grandchildren and seven devoted great grandchildren; Ann Kornegay (aunt) of Roosevelt, NY, Devoted Sister-in-Law Phyllis (Tommy) Carpenter of Gladstone; three Devoted Brother-in-Laws Samuel White of Lynchburg, John Michael White of Gladstone and Richard (Gudrun) White of Germany; Life-long Devoted friend Spencer Braxton and family of San Antione TX, and Spiritual sister Dorothy Smith of Lynchburg, a host of devoted nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Francis was a loving man who loved God, his family, his church and friends.
A funeral service will be held Friday January 6, 2017 at the Tree of Life Ministries at 2:00 P.M. with the Pastor Mike Dobson Eulogist. The internment will be at the Forest Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Military Honors will be given by The American Legion Post 16. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
