Evelyn Harvey Reed, 77, of Lynchburg, VA, departed this life on November 11, 2011, at Lynchburg General Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born in Spout Spring, VA, to the late Willie and Annie Scruggs Harvey. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Sr.; a daughter, Katie Lavonne and a son James, Jr.; three sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her daughter Geneva and son-in-law, Carl Napier, Sr.; a granddaughter, Charlene and Husband Darrell Ragins; two grandsons, James Reed, III and Randy Franklin, Jr. and wife Tonya; three great-grandchildren; Ryan, Myles and Darah Ragins; a daughter-in-law, Darlene Reed Christmas; a sister, Emma Lyons; a brother, Robert Harvey and his Wife Shelley; a devoted, sister-in-law, Helena Reed; two brothers-in-law, Lawrence Tanner and Manley Ferguson, Sr. and a very special aunt, Eula Harvey and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, November 19, 2011, at Mt. Shiloh Baptist Church, Spout Springs. The interment will be in the church cemetery.
