On the evening of September 11, 2022, God called his angel, Evelyn "Betty" Marie Andrews, to join him in Heaven. She worked at Blue Buckle for many years, GE/Ericsson until her retirement. Evelyn had been sick for some time. Due to her illness, she moved in with her son, George, and daughter-in-law, Dayle's home to get the care she needed. God saw it was time to pick a beautiful Rose.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Andrews, Sr.; mother, Naomi Morgan; father, Thomas J. Mickles; brother, John Mickles; and sister, Hilda Mae Mickles.

Evelyn leaves to cherish her memories her two children, Rhonda "La Mesa" McCoy and George "Lil George" Andrews, Jr.; devoted daughter-in-law, Dayle Andrews; six grandchildren, Marquis "Casey" McCoy, Candice McCoy, Justin McCoy, Shawn Andrews, Lamar Andrews, Lauren Andrews (her granddaughter and devoted caretaker); and a devoted great-grandson, JaVaughan Andrews; six great-grandchildren, Brianna McCoy, Shawn Andrews, Jr., Nevanh Simmons, Audrea Simmons, Quaylen Simmons, and Cario Wynn; two brothers, Lloyd "Betty" Mickles and Donald "Mahalia" Mickles; one sister, Kearn Price; two sisters-in-law, Everette Mickles and Iris Morris; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; and devoted friends, Ellen Lawhorn, Vernice Cabler, Juanita Orr, and Cleophus Olinger.

Evelyn will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.

A homegoing celebration will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Christ Chapel Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Carl B. Hutcherson as eulogist. Interment will be in the Clarkstown Cemetery. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
