Ethel Louise Allen of Lynchburg, Virginia was called to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. She was born on January 2, 1957, to her mother, Helen Allen. Ethel, accepted Christ at an early age, and later joined Chapel Grove Baptist Church, where she attended until her health declined.

Ethel was employed at Central Virginia Training Center as a Charge Aide for 46 years. Ethel was a dependable, dedicated employee, who cherished her job, and was committed to her career.

In her free time, she loved spending time with her fiancée (Mack), cooking for family gatherings, shopping, yard sales, and helping others. Ethel had a heart of gold and would do anything to help anybody, even a stranger. She loved visiting her son and grandkids in Wilmington, NC and going to the beach.

Ethel is survived by one son, Corneilus Allen (Renee) of Wilmington, NC; eight grandchildren, Corneilus Allen, Jr., Alston Allen, Jade Allen, Javon Morton, Jazmine Allen, Cainen Allen, Nygel Allen, and Braylen Allen; two great-grandchildren, Ma'Lani Allen and Milieon Williams. She leaves to cherish her memory two sisters, Celestine Andrews and Evangeline Allen of Lynchburg, VA; and three brothers, Robert Allen (Debra), Dennis Allen (April), and Ricky Allen (Stacy). She also leaves behind her fiancée, Malcolm Rucker, whom she loved very dearly, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A homegoing celebration will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Chapel Grove Baptist Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
