Ernest "Teddy Bear" Tyrone Franklin, 60 of Madison Heights quietly went home to be with the Lord on Thursday March 08, 2016, surrounded with his loved ones by his side. He was born on November 24, 1955.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy Sue Franklin and his brother, James Wesley "Slim" Franklin, Sr.
Ernest was a loving and devoted son, father, and fiancé'. He was a kind-hearted person who would do anything for anyone. He was quiet man of few words but the words he spoke were very meaningful. He worked for R&R Donnelly for 37 years. He joined Fairmount Baptist Church at an early age and was a dedicated member and served on the Trustee Board. He was loyal Chicago Bears fan. Teddy Bear as he was affectionately called, loved to be around his family and friends.
Ernest leaves to cherish his memories his parents, Kathleen and Wesley Franklin, of Madison Heights; a devoted fiancé' for over 30 years, Phyllis Chilton; his devoted daughter, Sabrina Chilton; two devoted step-sons, Carlos and Robellos; three sisters, Stella Franklin, Shirley Gillispie and Martha Franklin; three brothers, Robert Franklin (Marcella), Mckinley Franklin (Gwen) and Donald Franklin (Margaret); a devoted grand-daughter, Serenity; uncles, Onie Sparrow (Vernell) and Robert Franklin; aunts, Ophelia Franklin, Betty Franklin, Barbara Bowling and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016, at Fairmont Baptist Church, Madison Heights, with the Rev. Leonard Harris, Officiating. The interment will be in the church cemetery.
