Obituary

Epoch Carol Higginbotham "Known as Chief" passed away on January 8, 2018 at Avante' Nursing Home Lynchburg, VA after a short illness. He was born in Amherst County on October 14, 1925 to the late Rebecca Watson Higginbotham and Epoch Tony Higginbotham.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathlean Beverly Higginbotham and son, Epoch Tacoma Higginbotham, "Taji Khatib".

Early in life he accepted Christ and later joined the Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Amherst.

He joined in holy matrimony to the late Kathlean Beverly Higginbotham where they spent many happy years together. To this union was born three children.

He served his country well, as a member of the United States Army during World War II and he received an honorable discharge and he was a member of Morning Star lodge #105 AASR, Lynchburg.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Freda Higginbotham Thomas (Gary), of Madison Heights and son, Reverend Andra Higginbotham, of Amherst; a grandson, Jonathan Derrick Thomas and granddaughter, Tiffany Horsley both of Lynchburg and a host of other relatives and friends.
