Ellwood Graves Reid, Sr. "Woody", of Lynchburg passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was born October 9, 1934 to Russell D. Reid and Catherine Graves Reid.
In addition to his parents Ellwood was preceded in death by, three brothers, Levi Reid, Joseph Reid and Henry Reid, Sr. and one sister, Ruth Reid.
Ellwood worked for the City of Lynchburg.
Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Lelia Reid, of Lynchburg; two daughters, Shanta L. Reid, of Arlington, VA and Linda L. Reid, of Roanoke; one son, Ellwood Graves Reid, Jr., of Waldorf, MD; one sister, Euphazine Kendall, of GA; four brothers, Russell Reid, of CA, James Reid, of PA, Franklin Reid, of AZ and Michael Reid, of Lynchburg; five grandchildren, Frank, Stevey, Jabril, Aaron and Alexandria and a host of other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Fort Hill Memorial Park with Dr. Mack Johnson, officiating.
