Ella C. Jones was born in Appomattox, Virginia on December 12, 1936 and went home to be with the Lord on November 7, 2020. She is the daughter of the late Gordon and Nannie Chambers. She was preceded in death by her son, Clayton L. Jones, I; a brother, Francis Chambers; and a niece Cheryl Jackson Tyler. She is survived by her sister, Celestine C. Jackson (Eric) of Newport News, VA; a nephew, Eric Jackson Jr. (Ellen) of Manassas, VA and Cheryl's husband, Virgil Tyler of Woodbridge, VA. Also, left to cherish her memory are three grandchildren; Clayton Jones II (RoShanda) of Halifax, VA; Jennifer Jones and Gordon Jones (Sarah) both of Gladstone, VA; 14 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Ella was a faithful member of Springfield Baptist Church until she was no longer able to attend. We would like to thank her nurse, Debbie, for all that she did during the time that she was sick and we would also like to say a special thanks to her Daughter-in-Law, Helen Payne for taking care of her.

A funeral service will be held 1PM Thursday, November 12, 2020, at Davis-Turner Funeral Service with Pastor John Braxton and Rev. James Hagar, officiating. Internment will be in the Springfield Baptist Church cemetery in Appomattox, Virginia, following the funeral service.
