Edna Wood Martin, 83, of Lynchburg passed away Monday January 15, 2007 at her residence. She was born August 2, 1923 to the late Albert and Annie Wood Sr. and she was the wife of the late Booker T. Martin. She is survived by daughters Sonja Dickerson, Rev. Millicent Nash, Lenora Ingram and Corrine Kinebrew, and a son Henri Martin, a nephew whom she raised LeAngelo Wood, two brothers Addison and Welford Wood, nine grandchildren and seven great-grand children. She lies in state at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, January 21, 2007 at New Hope Baptist Church, Concord with Rev. Allan Loving officiating and Rev. Ricky Ferguson as Eulogist. Interment will be in the family cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-6 pm Saturday at Davis-Turner Funeral Service and other times at 200 Country Rd. Lynchburg.
