Obituary

Early Matthew Johnson, 76, of 815 Victoria Ave., Lynchburg, VA passed away January 2, 2013 at his residence. He was born November 25, 1936 to the late Sidney and Daisy Johnson.
Born and raised in Amherst County, he graduated from Central High School and joined the First Baptist Church, Coolwell at an early age.
Beside his parents his was preceded by two children, Alecia and Clay; one sister, Carrie Clark; five brothers, Earnest, Dewery, Robert, Thomas and Woody Johnson and mother of his children Doris Johnson.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marion Scott Johnson of 29 years; his children, Judy (Jeffrey) Martin, of Rustburg, Shirley Ward (Ken), Rose Johnson, of Lynchburg, Lawrence Johnson, of Fairfax, VA, Early Johnson, of Naples, FL and Aaron Dixon, of Richmond; step-daughters, Wanda Dacosm, Aneta Anderson, both of Lynchburg and Linda Tate, of Texas; step –son, Jeffrey Dickerson, of Atlanta, GA; three sisters, Rosa Brown, Daisy (Rueben) Jones, of Amherst and Nancy Johnson, of Richmond, VA; brother-in-law, Rudolph Thurman, of Brooklyn, NY; sisters-in-law, Mary Dorothy, Eva Johnson and Eunice Gudger; three special grandchildren, Jayden Shaquan and Chance; 20 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; one special niece, Amanda Ferguson and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held 12 Noon Tuesday, January 8, 2012 at First Baptist Church, Coolwell, with Rev. Charles Frye, Pastor, Officiating and Rev. Ernest Scott, as Eulogist. Condolences may be sent to www.Davis-Turner .com. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
