Earl G. Johnson, Sr., " Poo-Poo" age 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by the ones he laughed with, lived for, and loved on Wednesday, October, 10, 2017 at the Salem VA Medical Center, Salem, VA. Born in Lynchburg, Virginia to Ellen Johnson Brown, he lived most of his life in Lynchburg, Virginia.                                 .

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife and best friend Mary Frances Johnson of 50 years. He was extremely proud of his son Earl Johnson, Jr. and his daughter Ellen Francine Johnson, both of Lynchburg, Virginia. He is survived by one granddaughter Francheska Cardwell of Lynchburg, Virginia, a devoted aunt Florence Johnson of Lynchburg, Virginia as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and other friends.

He was preceded in death by Ellen Johnson Brown (Mother), Raymond Smallwood (Brother), and Oscar Melvin Harris (Son).

Earl was a veteran of the Marines Corps where he served four years. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Marines never left him, as friends and family will attest.

Mr. Johnson worked as a Nuclear Technician for 37 years at BWXT. Earl was a passionate man who enjoyed carpentry and fishing.
