On Sunday, May 22, 2022 Dwight O'Neil Gilmore Sr. slipped into eternal rest in Lynchburg, VA at the age of 34. Dwight was born on May 6, 1988 to Patrice Gilmore. He is preceded in death by one brother, Ricky Johnson Jr.; grandfather, Carl Johnson; stepfather, Ricky Johnson Sr.; and great aunt, Connie Sydnor.

In addition to his mother and grandmothers, Rose Gilmore and Carrie Johnson, he leaves to cherish his memories two sons, Dwight Gilmore Jr. and Jayden Davis; fiancé, Brandy Abbitt; one brother, Daquan Gilmore; one step-sister, Quateria Cardwell; god sister, Deshanta Thomas; and godmother, Sharon Johnson. He was a loving uncle to two nephews, Nisaiah Johnson and Omari Garrison, and two nieces, Ivey Cardwell and Avah Garrison. He also leaves two aunts, Monica Gilmore and Alisa Johnson; four uncles, Shawn Gilmore, Steven Gilmore (Ramona), Carl Johnson (Lisa) and Roger Johnson (Cassandra). A devoted great-aunt, Phyllis Snead (Willie) and great-uncle, Craig Mosley (Tracy). Three devoted cousins, Bianca Gilmore, LaSheanda Minnis, and Sampson Minnis. Three devoted friends, Sierra Ford, Tamika Wade, and Kendric Johnson; and a whole host of other loving relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, June 01, 2022, at Davis-Turner Funeral Service with the Reverend Edward Hendricks as Eulogist. Interment will be in the Mt. Obed Baptist Church Cemetery. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
