Dorothy Sandidge Christian, 85, of Amherst passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at her residence. She was born July 15, 1924 to the late Boyd and Virgie Sandidge. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hope W. Christian; three sisters; six brothers; two daughters and two sons. She joined New Jerusalem Baptist Church and served faithfully until her health failed.
She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Jean (Calvin) Campbell; two sons, Leroy (Pearl) Christian and Davie Christian all of Madison Heights; 21 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews relatives and friends. A very special thanks to Betty Myers who was her caregiver.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Monday, May 31, 2010 at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, Amherst with Rev. J.L. Sandidge officiating and Rev. Rodney Harris as Eulogist.
