Dorothy Barksdale Mabin, 87, of Lynchburg passed away Monday, March 4, 2013 at the The Carrington Nursing Home. She was born to the late Marie Barksdale on May 29, 1925. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Mabin, Sr.; one son, Lawrence Mabin, Jr.; three sisters, Joyce Cheatham, Audrey Morris and Martha Boomer. Those left to cherish her memories are, one son, Christopher Wendell Mabin, Sr., of Independence, MO; one daughter, Rochelle Mabin Dyke, of Lynchburg; one sister, Katherine Douglas; two grandsons, Christopher W. Mabin, Jr. and Johnathan L. Dyke; two granddaughters, Tiffany A. Mabin and Christina L. Murray; god daughters, Fredericka Ferguson and Yvette Edwards; great god-daughters, Mallory Haynes and Leslie Edwards; god son, Dr. Antoine "Lil Pastor" Edwards and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM March 9, 2013 at Rivermont Baptist Church with Rev. Shawn Womack, Pastor, Officiating and Dr. Antoine L.T.R. Edwards as Eulogist.
