Doretha Elizabeth Terry Flowers entered into eternal rest on Wednesday morning, March 20, 2024. Doretha Flowers was born on September 29, 1942, to the late Nathaniel Terry and Vastie Virginia Stone Terry and she was preceded in death by her late husband, William E. Flowers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Jacob Terry; and one sister, Sallie Stone.

She was a member of The Way of the Cross Ministries and was a retired employee of the Central Virginia Training Center.

Those left to cherish her memories are two daughters, Alethea (Clinton) Douglas and Angela Flowers-Smith of Lynchburg, VA; one son, William E. Flowers, Jr. of Lynchburg, VA; and one sister, Shirley (James) Wright of Suitland, MD; four grandchildren, DeVonna Stephens, Jordan Smith (Stephanie), TaNaija Douglas, and a devoted granddaughter, Jayla (Carlos) Claxton; two great-grandchildren, Levi Claxton and Laila Claxton; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

There will be no service by request of Doretha Flowers.
