Doretha Harris, 58, of Amherst, Virginia passed away on Monday, June 28, 2021, with family by her side after a 23 year battle with cancer.

She was born to the late Dorothy Harris in Amherst County, Virginia. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Harris, Willard Harris and Raymond Harris; and three sisters, Doris McDaniel, Pauline Harris and Sherry Harris.

Doretha leaves to cherish her memory one son, Tyran Harris (Julia) of Lynchburg, VA; seven sisters, Candra George of Norfolk, VA, Sarah Harris of Richmond, VA, Faye Harris and Betty Harris of Amherst, VA, Arlene Braxton (Dale) of Madison Heights, VA, Denista Pannell (Morris) of Madison Heights, VA; one brother, Eldridge Harris (Gretchen) of Maryland; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Doretha accepted Christ at an early age and joined the St. Mark Baptist Church.

A celebration of life will be held 2PM Friday, July 16, 2021, at Davis-Turner Funeral Service. The family will receive friends one hour prior. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
