Donnie Tinsley, 67, of Amherst, VA departed this life, Monday October 30, 2006 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Gladine R. Tinsley.

Donnie was born May 14, 1939 in Amherst County and he was a son of the late Robert and Dorothy Tinsley. Donnie was preceded in death by an infant son, Leon Tinsley, a sister Ella Benson and two brothers Robert Tinsley, Jr. and Daniel Lee Tinsley his twin brother.

In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons, David (Indra) Tinsley of Madison Heights, Daryl (Juliet) Tinsley of Richmond, VA and Damon Tinsley and his fiancée Natalie of Madison Heights; one brother, James Tinsley; three sisters, Minnie Mitchell, Stella Benson and Sarah Norris; six grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Friday, November 3, 2006 at Piney Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Meredith Tinsley officiating and Rev. Charles W. Lewis Eulogist . Mr. Tinsley will lie in state one hour prior to the Funeral Service. Interment will be in Tinsley Family Cemetery. The Family will receive friends Thursday from 7-8 pm at Piney Grove Baptist Church and other times at the residence 192 Harrison Creek Rd. Amherst, VA.
