Donna Kay Payne Johnson of 415 Patterson Road, Rustburg, VA departed this life on June 14, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born June 01, 1951, to the late William McKinley Payne, Sr., and the late Clara Bell Payne. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, William McKinley Payne, Jr.

She was a faithful member of Cross Road Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, Kevin Andre Johnson of the residence; 3 granddaughters, Diamonds Saunders (Ryan) of Evington, VA, Shania and Carmen Johnson of Rustburg, VA; one great-granddaughter, Za'nyla Saunders and one great-grandson to be, Savvas Saunders of Evington, VA. Two brothers, Linwood Payne (Lucille) and Carroll Payne (Debra); 3 sisters, Cynthia Zenj-Ra, Shelby Payne and Phyllis Payne (whom she referred to as her Dog); nephews, Linwood Payne, Jr. (Gerald), Tony Payne, Arian Payne, Marte Braxton (Nico), William M. Payne, III,  Wellie Davis, Timothy Payne, Vincent Cruthers and Glen Payne; nieces, Thandewe Zenj-Ra, Diandria Payne, Faye Payne, Teresa Payne, Britney and Whitney Payne and Lisa Branch; great niece, Amaya Payne; great nephew, Zachary Payne (Shayla); great-great nephew and niece, Julian and Lilyana Payne; Honorary Mother, Mrs. Verneice Cabler; her best friends, Danni Lovelace and Rhonda Buracker; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A homegoing celebration will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday, June 19, 2022, at Cross Road Baptist Church with Reverend William Coleman as Eulogist. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
