Dennis Wayne Megginson, Sr. "Wayne" 63, of Rustburg passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at his residence. He was born September 8, 1950 to the late James T. and Mamie R. Megginson.
In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by three brothers, Henry, Steve and James Megginson; one sister, Lorraine Irving; one sister-in-law, Virginia Akins.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Naomi Felicia Linthicum, of Rustburg; one son, Dennis W. Megginson, Jr., of Lynchburg; four daughters, Denissa W. Megginson, W. Michelle Adams (Robert), both of Madison Heights, Colletta S. Megginson and Veronica E. Megginson, both of Lynchburg; step-son, JaRay Linthicum; four brothers, Carl Megginson, Jerry Megginson, John Megginson, all of Gladstone and Albert Robinson, Sr. (Anne), of Appomattox; three sisters, Cindia Franklin, of Rustburg, Ethel Robertson (John), of Radford and Easter Hatcher, of Radford; aunt, Olivia Marshall (Curtis); a loving and special aunt, Ernestine Washington (Vernon); a special cousin and best friend, Ruth E. Megginson; uncles, Iverson Megginson and Otis Megginson; special friends, Celestine Walker, Gerald and Vera Sparrow and Andrew Hairston; mother-in-law, Elfreda D. Marshall; four sisters-in-law, Nora Ross, Constance Akins, Margaret Turner, Carolyn Megginson and Reatha Akins; two brothers-in-law, Ross Akins and William Akins and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family wishes to thank the Doctors and Staff of Lynchburg Hematology Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Centra Hospice, Central Rehabilitation, Gastro Associates and Lynchburg Pulmonary for their care to our loved one during his sickness.
